I am Tiisetso Maloma, an African publishing entrepreneur and author of books on innovation and entrepreneurship.
I am working on a fund to acquire, consolidate, and streamline book publishing and other intellectual property (IP) across Africa using technology, and then form partnerships that use AI to create subsidiary FMCG products. I believe AI will help Africa turn IP products such as books into films more easily, cheaply, and quickly, as it does in the developing world.
My books provide frameworks that explore and integrate innovation, economics, entrepreneurship, creativity, psychology, philosophy, and complex systems.
My work has impacted organizations such as the Obama Foundation, Standard Bank, The Innovation Hub, Sappi, and various government organizations.
I have delivered keynotes and technical lectures at Wits Business School, ABSA, The Business Show, Johannesburg Business School, Plato’s Academy Centre, Startup Business Festival, and the University of Pretoria.
I currently serve on the Entrepreneurship Academic Advisory Board at the University of South Africa (Unisa) under the Department of Applied Management.
For over a decade, I have contributed to the South African entrepreneurship ecosystem by working with medium to large entities.
Publishing
For over decade, I have been an active angel investor in book publishing. I was instrumental in pioneering the “diary chronicle” fiction genre through Bula Buka Publishers, a company I founded.
Some of our published titles include L. Sojini’s Sex in Sandton, Mike Maphoto’s Diary of a Zulu Girl, Lesego Maake’s Diary of a Side Chick Makhwapheni, and Diary of a Cheating Wife.
Books and Models/Frameworks
I believe that “It is the Easiest, Cheapest, and Quickest Time in History to be an Entrepreneur and Innovator” is the subtitle of one of my books. My books include Future of Township Economies, Innovate the Next, 90 Days to Create & Launch, Forget the Business Plan, The Anxious Entrepreneur, Money is Biological, and Introducing Ubuntu Stoicism.
I have also developed various business models and frameworks, including The EBC Business Model, The Human Greed Pyramid, and Product Adjacent Possible Success Factors.
